Jesus Promised Immortality To All Who Follow His Words

The subject that Jesus spoke about, perhaps more than any other, is that if you follow His words, you will never taste death, and become an immortal, like He was.

John 8:51 “Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”

Orthodoxy chimes right in with a big, wet blanket on those words. “Oh no, He REALLY MEANT Spiritual Death, because once I have my “born again” ticket punched, it’s smooth sailing to my mansion in heaven that Jesus went to prepare for me.”

I can only ask if we can allow Jesus to say what He means and mean what He says? Or do you Pharisees need to ALWAYS  correct The Author of Life?

There is probably no subject that He spoke more often often about than immortality in human flesh, here and now.

On this subject whether we must die or if there is an option for immortality, here is the verse that almost every Christian can quote, and does so regularly:

Hebrews 9:27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.

But I don’t know of any Christians who would quote one of these following verses, where in all 4 gospels Jesus directly contradicted the quote above.

ALL 4 GOSPELS AGREE:

John 11:26 whoever lives by believing in me will never die

John 8:51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death

Matthew 16:28 Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.

Mark 9:1, Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.

Luke 9:27 Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.

John 21:22 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you“?

Who is right?

Jesus said we can live eternally. Paul insists we must die. So who was right, Jesus or Paul?

You have heard about the 2 “witnesses” in Revelation 11?

Rev 11 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, “Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers. ² But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. ³ And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” ⁴ They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth. ⁵ If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. ⁶ They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

They would be more correctly labeled the “2 EYE Witnesses”, the two men who took Him at His word, and followed it, and therefore gained immortality here and now, in human flesh.

Much speculation has been given to the identity of these odd fellows. I don’t believe that very many of you, if any, have ever even heard this theory.. So read over it, read some of the related documentation, and pray about it.

Remember Jesus once said;

Then I was told, “You (John) must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.” Rev 10:11

Sounds like John was being set apart for a very special, new ministry. Read the context of this prophecy in Rev 10 & Rev 11 here. (bible chapters are man made, and should not be considered as authoritative to the authors intentions)

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus Rev 22:20

Doesn’t it almost sound like John saying; “Yes, I am coming soon.”? Have you ever wondered why there are no confirmed reports of John’s death? Only rumors, and of course he received “the Revelation of Jesus” on Patmos, but from there?

As it turns out, John the beloved disciple, was one of the very few who took Jesus at His WORD!! He believed when his Lord said

” if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” John 8:41

I can almost hear these two men RAILING against the modern pulpiteers and practitioners of the priest-craft; “Jesus Christ I knew. I worked with Jesus Christ. And my friend, YOU are not (in the likeness of) Jesus Christ” …

He more than any other saw deeply into the eyes, and heart of the Nazarene. Scholars have determined that John was perhaps a teenager during his three and a half years of walking with Jesus. He of all the disciples then would have the advantage of being young enough to be able to think of a 30 to 33 year old Jesus as a ‘Father’.

If this biblical hypothesis winds up being correct, then we will say that John earned his position of immortality due to his LOVE for Jesus. The lead contender for the other EYE-WITNESS position we would probably say was SCARED INTO his immortality… Just kidding – sort of…

You see, the other fellow who has remained alive for over 2000 years, and is now preparing to co-lead a grand 3 and 1/2 year revival is the only person in human history to HAVE BEEN DEAD FOR FOUR DAYS!!! Surely the lessons that Lazarus learned while in the “next life” for 4 days were enough for him to pay careful attention to every word that came out of the Guy whose spoken words loosed him from the chains of death. There are no reports of Lazarus’ subsequent death either, that I have heard.

It would appear that John will be the witness for THE GOOD NEWS to the church, while Lazarus will focus on sharing and revealing their Messiah to the Jews.

You may be fearing, about now, that you have not bridged the gap of immortality yet? Have no fear. Here is where Paul got it right, on a grand scale: Philippians 1:6 he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Jesus makes it very clear that IMMORTALITY is possible, and He is getting ready to display it on a grand scale. Soon, He will look here on the earth and He will find exactly 144,000 blameless men who follow His every word by growing the gift of His seed that they each received.. This group will be translated (raptured) in what is a total surprise to most of the world, take up into heaven and converted into IMMORTAL BODIES and then BECOME THE BRIDE OF CHRIST!!! He is calling you to join this group NOW – before it’s too late.

HE HAS ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to carry to completion the good work began in you. Just don’t ever give up pursuing Jesus and the Father of your Heart.
