NASA Missions And Their Masonic Connections
The landing of the Apollo 11 mission is an inspiring moment in the history of the human species, however today, 50 years after that milestone, conspiracy theories continue to open debate. One of the many is that which ensures that the entire mission to the Moon was influenced by the desires of Masonic lodges and their rituals.(Masonic connections)
Given that Freemasonry has several of its roots buried in the wisdom of Ancient Egypt and that, as we will see later, many senior officers at NASA are Freemasons, the conspiracy theory holds that the ultimate goal of Apollo 11 was to carry out an ancestral ritual to “establish communication” with a “deity of the beginning of time”.
Next, the journalist and writer Gabriel Muscillo delivers an exhaustive investigation where he analyzes this and other shocking proclamations that seem to reveal a mixture of half-truths, speculation and strange coincidences.
Freemasons in space
Until recently, the question of the real role played by Masonry in the conquest of the moon, and particularly, of the supposed status of Initiate of Neil Armstrong – commander of the Apollo XI Mission, which crowned such a feat successfully -, was heritage almost exclusive of groups that like to theorize about global conspiracies, usually from an extreme right perspective. According to these, the aforementioned astronaut – first man to print his footprint on selenite dust – would have used his left foot for this, a circumstance that allows us to suspect a ritual character.
Some shallow considerations induced, certainly, to think that we were facing a kind of urban legend.
Gene Gilmore Leaves A Death Bed Message About The Moon Landing Hoax
In the first place, Armstrong Mason found no place in any book or work of any length and depth; swarmed, on the other hand, in websites, leaflets and digital magazines. It is true that the alleged exchange of “ritual gestures” on the surface of our satellite is mentioned by none other than Emilio Corbière, in his substantial book Masonry: Politics and Secret Societies; but the historian does it in passing, and keeping the door open to doubt.
Secondly, none of those willing to fight cape and sword by Armstrong Mason knows how to record where and in what year it began, or to which Lodge it belonged. Those who mention their statue in front of an important Masonic Temple are not able to offer a photo as proof; The same goes for those who refer about portraits of the astronaut carrying his Mandil.
Pieces From Cutting Room Floor Moon Movie Hoax
On the other hand, some specific sources directly stated the opposite, and in sharp mode. The Freemasons in Space page , part of the reliable Canadian obedience website Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon , underlines that Armstrong was not a Mason; nevertheless, he affirms next the militancy in the Order of his father, whom he calls Neil Armstrong Sr., noting even his belonging to the Grand Lodge of Ohio. Given that these details contain at least one notable error, which will be fulfilled later, it seems lawful to put the whole news in brackets.
Thus, in broad strokes, Neil Armstrong’s Masonic condition was a fact that did not seem worthy of consideration: it could be easily ignored, discarded without fear, or at least questioned. In fact, it came from the nebulous realm of open speculation, when not rampant, where various specimens of the conspiranic fauna roamed, with little credibility.
At least, that’s the way it was until recently.
From left to right: Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin, the Apollo 11 Mission team.
Upon the occurrence, on August 25, 2012, the death of the veteran pioneer, the Grand Lodge of Argentina of Free and Accepted Masons issued a Communiqué, signed by his Grand Master, Angel Jorge Clavero, where he “expresses his pain at the passing of Brother Neil Armstrong to the Eternal East ». He also considered the presence of “individual statues” of his and his companion, Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, at the gates of the Grand Lodge of Washington.
And suddenly, the balance balanced dramatically. There was at least one strong testimony on the side of Armstrong Mason.
Aldrin delivers the Masonic flag that brought the great commander of the 33rd degree to the moon.
Having changed circumstances in this regard, it was imperative, in my opinion, to proceed urgently to “clean up” the matter. This considering, prima facie, that beyond the belonging or non-belonging of the deceased hero to the Order, it took place – without any hesitation – decisive role in the development of the American space program.
It should not be ignored, also, the great symbolic importance of the lunar feat for Masons: to the point that it suggested to a Brother Masón de Lomas de Zamora (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Dr. Enrique Febbraro, the creation of the Friend’s Day, which is already celebrated in a hundred countries.
Finally: The Armstrong Case contributed to unjustly invisibilizing ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, whose Mason character is ample witnessed, as if having made contact with the lunar regolith in the second term relegated him to the position of ‘supporting actor’, condemning him to vegetate in the shadow of the one whom some called “the Space Colon”.
This motley cluster of stimuli decided me to undertake a series of readings and inquiries, which would be pretentious to call research. I can assure, however, that they were intense and varied, and that I allowed myself all the time necessary to contrast each data.
The specific objectives were six:
- Determine for sure if Neil Armstrong was a Mason;
- Separate straw from wheat, with respect to various stories that circulate profusely about Aldrin’s “Masonic activity” on the moon;
- Arrive at an exhaustive and reliable list of American astronauts with Masonic affiliation;
- Review, even by bird flight, the various accusations that are launched on Masonry, both from “conspiracy theorists” and from anti-Masonic sectors.
- Determine what is true in them; and finally,
- Include special consideration to the unusual case of John Whiteside Parsons (also known as Jack Parsons).
A small step … ritual
In the first place, it should be noted that the one we see going down the ladder of the module in the already classic lunar landing is indeed Neil Armstrong, who as a mission commander took priority in the descent. But then who filmed him being the first man on the moon?
NASA engineers are not dumb and knew that the first step was the most important, so they mounted a camera – low resolution, yes – in the module, which at the time indicated was deployed by Armstrong himself as he descended. In fact, during the recordings the astronaut can be heard asking the control center located on Earth if they were getting a good signal, before continuing down the stairs.
Now, if we talk about photographs, indeed the one portrayed is Aldrin, who followed the official photographer of the mission and stepped on the selenite surface … with his left foot:
If we go to various Internet sites bent on denouncing the global conspiracy of Freemasonry, Judaism and Communism to take over production and exchange networks, intervene in government systems and establish an atheist and stateless New World Order, we will find that “Man’s first trip to our natural satellite was led by a delegation of Freemasonry, and not only that, the landing of Apollo XI was programmed according to the calendar of Osiris, the most important god of the pantheon of the ancient Egyptians and figure emblematic of hermeticism ». This is a textual quote from the Stop NWO site that maintains a Spanish anonymity, and where the Stop NWO refers to the “urgent need” to stop the fall of Western civilization towards theNew World Order. That same page says:
«Neil Armstrong, the commander of the mission, Lubetón and brother Mason, who wanted to pay a discreet tribute to the Order and his brothers of the universe, when he first touched the lunar soil on July 20, 1969, walked with the same steps ritualistic with which enter the apprentices in the Masonic temples, and for it was accompanied with the phrase that today has become immortal: It is a small step for the man, a great jump for the humanity. Only the members of the Order took note of that sense tribute ».
“Then [shortly after the moon landing] a strange ritual, of a completely different kind, of a dark and sinister character, occurred at the Base of Tranquility on the Moon. It was not broadcast to Earth via television, as this ritual was carefully worked out in advance as a secret ceremony, to be hidden and seen only by the eyes of the Illuminati adepts and their Masonic brotherhood. Astronaut Neil Armstrong, carefully, took out his Masonic Apron [ sic by Mandil] and held it for the cameras on his space suit, as if covering the area of his genitals – the power center or Luciferian Energy dynamo in the Masonic Ritual »
One wonders how the author of this surprising text managed to find out about a secret Ritual, carefully planned by the most subtle and diabolical minds, and that was not transmitted to the planet. But, if we are to judge by the gross error of assuming the existence of a “base” in the Sea of Tranquility, the site of descent of the Eagle, it is not possible to grant such great details greater credit than the adventures of Mouse Perez.
The fact is that Armstrong has repeatedly denied his Freemasonry militancy and that it is not on the “official” lists of Famous Masons offered by The Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia. The confusion, surely, derives from the fact that the father of the astronaut, who was an auditor of the State of Ohio – and who was not named Neil, as can be read there, but Stephen Koenig – was an active Freemason. He was also a member of the Lions Club of Wakaponeta, his city of residence. It can be seen how the author of the first paragraph cited “stepped on the stick” when he described Neil as a lubeton: a word that, in the particular dictionary of the Brothers, means, simply, the son of a Mason.
Although the data of the Masonic affiliation of Stephen Koenig Armstrong is corroborated – as such appears in the official listings of the District of Columbia -, I could not know much more about his career in the Order. Apparently, it started in Cincinnati. The anti-Masonic websites coincide in assigning you the 33rd Degree. But for the conspiranoics, every outstanding Mason is Grade 33 °.
Osiris communication portal
With regard to the supposed “Osiris calendar”, according to which the Apollo XI mission schedule would have been programmed, I can only say that we are faced with another stupid nonsense. Beyond the fact that the author of the statement does not explain anything in this regard, it should be noted that in the Egyptian calendar there were two days devoted to the commemoration of the osiriac feasts: one dedicated to the death and dismemberment of the god, five days before the 1st of Peret , season of germination, that is, winter; and the one dedicated to his birth, that is, the first of the five days added at the end of the year, known as epagómenos, but called by the natives of the Nile Mesut necheru: The Birth of the Gods.
But, since the first day of peret corresponds to our December 27, the Death of Osiris fell on the 22nd of this month; and since the epagomenos were added after the last day of mesore, the Birth of Osiris was celebrated on August 24.
Well, the entire Apollo XI Mission was developed in the second half of July 1969. The launch of Saturn V that carried the Eagle capsule occurred on the 16th of that month; the moon landing was verified on 20; the descent of the astronauts just six hours later, already at dawn on the 21st; The return concluded with the landing on the 24th.
As can be seen, the coincidence with the so-called «Osiris calendar» is null.
It is true that we have one Richard Hoagland, to whom certain websites mistakenly assign the dignity of “NASA consultant.” It is, in fact, an eccentric subject, who for years has led a peculiar crusade against the US government, accusing him of hiding from the public the evidence that “we are not alone in the universe”.
Hoagland maintains that, both on the lunar surface as in the Martian, there are artificial structures, erected millennia ago by extraterrestrial visitors, who do not hesitate to identify with the gods that, according to the various mythologies, instructed man, giving him the rudiments of civilization Gods who, according to him, continue to be evoked in the rites used by the Freemasons. This delirious individual affirms that, after the spatial projects, Masonry is hidden, eager to regain contact with the ancient gods. And for this, it is entangled in complex calculations, which aim to fit, to one-eyed and right, each of the launches, moon landings and re-entries to the Land of the Apollo Project with the constellation of Orion. He has thus obtained a series of “alignments” that he considers suggestive.
Among them the one referred to July 20, 1969, the day Armstrong and Aldrin landed.
Hoagland states that the descent of the Eagle into the Sea of Tranquility “coincides curiously with the beginning of the Egyptian calendar.” Hence he deduces that someone, with notable influence within NASA, “venerates the god Osiris, whose stellar expression is, precisely, the constellation of Orion.”
Now we will see what subterfuges the so-called “NASA consultant” uses to twist the data, until they end up coinciding, barely even, with their expectations.
The beginning of the Egyptian year, an event that in no way is related to the Osiriac myth, occurred with the heliacal ortho of the star Sotis (Sirius), on a day corresponding to June 20 of our calendar. Only if we take into account the old Julian calendar, in disuse since 1582 – when the Gregorian was imposed, currently in force – we approach a slight shadow of coincidence: the rise of Sirius – which is the Flaming Star of the Masonic Temples – was the July 16, according to the abolished count.
But, in addition to that to fall on this date we must resort to a calendar lost more than 400 years ago, we must emphasize that July 16, 1969 is the day of takeoff from Cape Canaveral … Not the day of the moon landing.
Lodge of Tranquility
There is no doubt, however, about the Masonic character of the second man who stepped on the Moon: Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin. At the time of his historic trip, he belonged to the Montclair Lodge No. 144 of New Jersey; before, he had integrated the Clear Lake Lodge Chart No. 1417, in Seabrook, Texas. He was also a member of para-monistic organizations such as the Sacred Order of the Temple of Sion (ie, the Knights Templar), and the Ancient Arabian Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Sanctuary, better known as Shriners.
In his book Back to Earth, (which may well be considered his Memoirs), Aldrin tells us of his desire to take the Masonic Ring of the father to the Moon, and of his disappointment when he lost it, a few days before takeoff. Instead, he carried with him a special order from the then Sovereign Grand Commander J. Guy Smith, granting him full power in the New World he would visit, on the condition of representing it in him; it also authorized him to demand Masonic Territorial Jurisdiction over the Moon, on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Texas of Free and Accepted Masons.
To commemorate the historic event – and perhaps also to consolidate the Texan-Selenite Freemasonry -, a Patent Letter was issued in favor of a new Lodge, known as Tranquility Lodge No. 2000 (Lodge Tranquility), which works under the auspices of the Grand Lodge of Texas, and which has provisional headquarters in that State … until it can be established concretely and materially in our satellite! On the next page, we can appreciate the mandrel of this «Extraterrestrial Temple».
It is clear that the Column Lifting of a Lodge in the Sea of Tranquility should be considered a merely symbolic act.
Aldrin hid a flag of the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree, Southern Jurisdiction of American Masonry, inside his spacesuit. It is evident that he deployed it in the absent lunar atmosphere – in a ceremony that, this time, the cameras did not capture – but it was impossible for me to obtain details about the final destination of the show: there are versions that Aldrin brought it back to the Earth, to finally present it to the Sovereign Grand Commander Smith; others say that he left her up there, kneeling on the rocks of the Selenites, and that he continues there; and there are others, finally, according to which he would have been “rescued” later by other astronauts, also freemasons, and “repatriated.” The truth is that the Library of the Museum of the Scottish Rite Temple in Washington DC, located at 1733 Sixteen Street,
By the way, there is the possibility that it is only a replica. I have written to the aforementioned Library inquiring about the details, but to date I have not received a response.
By way of illustration, they can be exhibited:
The commemorative medal coined by the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree South Jurisdiction of the USA, when the tenth anniversary of the moon landing was completed in July 1979. On the obverse you can read ‘Our flags on the moon’, referring to the two planted by Aldrin: the homeland and the Masonic. Both can be seen clearly in the relief.
Some websites supported by lovers of conspiracies, after gloating and scandalized with such a cluster of data – ignoring that they have no secrets, while Aldrin himself refers to them in his book, and they are also photographed – award character of “Diabolical symbol” to the double-headed eagle. As if he were not a common figure in European heraldry, an emblem, for example, of the Holy German Roman Empire of the Habsburgs, and of the Spanish monarchy with Charles I; or, of the Holy Russia of Czar Nicholas, among other reigning or noble houses.
Some authors point out as “suggestive” the coincidence with the name given by NASA to the landing module: Eagle , that is, Eagle.
Before moving on, let’s stop to consider the photographic documents of which I speak above. I was not referring, by the way, to the photo that Richard Hoagland used as the cover for his “amarillista” The secret history of NASA , which is reproduced below (Fig. 4). It is an obvious fraud, a product of the smooth and rampant use of Photoshop. I invite the reader to see the enlargement I made of the figure of Aldrin, and to examine the image that appears in the reflection of the viewfinder of his helmet. What Aldrin really held then was, clearly, the North American school!
The photographic document that I allege is somewhat more serious: it shows Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, along with his father – also a Mason -, delivering the flag of marras to the Supreme Great Commander Smith, on September 16, 1969:
Communion
Let’s continue to delight with Hoaglang. Elsewhere, the conspicuous paranoid accuses Aldrin of having performed a ritual, precisely “thirty-three minutes after touching selenite surface, when Sirius became visible on the horizon of the satellite”; then relates the number 33 with the Grades of the Old and Accepted Scottish Rite.
It is true that Aldrin performed a ritual in the Sea of Tranquility. Yes, here I must agree with the side of the suspicious.
Of course, the ritual that the astronaut held had nothing Masonic: it belonged to the purest Christian orthodoxy. Aldrin had carried with him a tiny “communion game,” which had been provided by Webster’s Presbyterian Temple (Houston, Texas), to which he belonged: a small silver chalice, a bottle of wine the size of a thimble, and a fragment of host, consecrated by Pastor Dean Woodrof, who had previously consulted the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church on the viability of the sacrament. During the morning, he had broadcast on radio: “I would like to ask for some moments of silence. I would like to invite each person who is listening, whoever he is or wherever he is, to contemplate for a moment the events of the last few hours,
On page 233 of Magnificent Desolation, Aldrin wrote:
“In the radio blackout, I opened the small plastic packages that contained the bread and wine. I poured the wine into the chalice. In the lunar gravity, of a sixth of the earth, the wine snaked slowly through the walls of the vessel, and gracefully escaped to the side. Then I read the Scripture: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, he will bear much fruit; but without me, nothing can be done. ” I had intended to read this passage back to Earth, but at the last minute Deke Slayton asked me not to do that. NASA was already embroiled in a legal battle with Madelyn Murray O’Hare, the famous opponent of religion, about the crew of Apollo 8, who read Genesis while orbiting the Moon at Christmas. I reluctantly agreed … [After the ceremony], I gave thanks for the Intelligence and the Spirit that took two young pilots to the Sea of Tranquility. It was interesting for me to think: the first liquid ever poured on the Moon, and the very first food eaten there, were the elements of communion.
The passage that Aldrin recited corresponds to the Gospel of John XV, 5, and was personally chosen by the astronaut. The paper where he transcribed it, and which he read 250 thousand kilometers from the earth’s surface, is preserved today in Webster’s temple, along with the chalice used for the ceremony; with him, every year, and on the Sunday closest to July 20, parishioners celebrate what they call the Lunar Communion.
Needless to say, in no serious source is the chronometric precision exhibited by Hoagland. The official NASA page provides the exact timeline of the entire Apollo XI Mission. According to her, Aldrin went down 20 minutes after Armstrong. He remained on the surface for 1 hour and 33 minutes, occupied in deploying the apparatus for the programmed experiments; 41 minutes after his return to the module, Armstrong followed him. The complete phase of EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity) lasted more than two and a half hours, ending 111 hours and 39 minutes after takeoff at Cape Canaveral. In total, Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours and 36 minutes on the surface of the Moon, including the time before disembarking and seven hours of sleep on board the module, before leaving the satellite.
If we accepted the numbers of Hoagland, Aldrin would have to have executed his perverse and secret Masonic ritual just 13 minutes after touching the moon, then managing, in the short time remaining, to install the scientific instruments and the TV camera, and even collect mineral samples.
Of course, it can always be argued that NASA rigged the numbers. Even so, it is difficult to accept that Aldrin had a sufficiently long “gap” between her numerous and delicate operations to develop something as complex as a ritual. Each movement of EVA was rigorously timed, even with precision of seconds: any delay could prove fatal in the demanding lunar conditions. If the dawn came to surprise the astronauts, the sudden thermal jump of -170 to 120 ° C would have been a rather uncomfortable experience. Not to mention that there is no record of any interruption in the transmission of the images of their activities. The viewers could see each and every one of the little jumps pour la galérie of both astronauts, as well as the development of their scientific activities.
It is good that they could have seemed esoteric to the profane.
We insist: nowhere does it prove reliably that Aldrin’s “ritual” – which, as we saw, was not Masonic but Christic – was executed precisely 33 minutes after the moon landing. But what if it had been like that … what? Little can be extracted from such numerical cabals. Both would be worth going back to the 33 years that according to tradition Jesus had to the point of being crucified, how to interpret “magically” the landing of Lavalleja and the 33 oriental.
The case of John Whiteside Parsons
It is often said that this outstanding scientist, co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of Pasadena, played under the Squadron and the Compass.
Parsons was the one who implemented the idea of using potassium perchlorate as an oxidizer of rocket fuel, so we can call it, without exaggeration, the Space Age Architect in the US. Wernher Von Braun himself referred to him as “the true father of American rocket.”
The conspiranoicos have accused him of a drug addict and satanist. Some even point out that he was a “close friend” of the English Aleister Crowley and the Yankees Lafayette Ron Hubbard: two characters, by the way, very different.
Crowley, initiated in the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn , always defined himself as a magician, and liked to call himself The Beast, identifying himself with the number that, according to the Apocalypse, corresponds to him as a distinctive sign: 666. This eccentric character, always posing as a damn only pour épater le bourgeois , was also co-founder of Astrum Argentum and alma mater of the controversial Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), where his Law of Thelema rules: “always do your will”. In this way, Crowley pretended to follow faithfully the concept that Satan himself, under the figure of a Serpent, sizzled in Eve’s ear.
Hubbard, on the other hand, was a writer of pulp magazines (he dedicated himself to science fiction, horror and the western ), which at some point – and according to fame, responding to the challenge of a bet – founded a new religion called scientology. His controversial credo, supposedly “scientific”, claims that Xenu, “cosmic tyrant”, ruler of the Galactic Confederation based on the star Markab, imprisoned a group of dissidents on Earth. This would have happened millions of years ago, when the world was going through its Prehistory. These dissenters managed to separate their spirits (called thetan), from the continent of the bodies, subjected to jail and torture under the splint of Xenu. Once released, they incarnated eventually in some of the primitive humans who were roaming the planet. Hubbard said that, through sophisticated and expensive therapeutic treatments, the psyche of the descendants of such “ET vehicles” can be stripped of the “alien engrams” (traces or traces of memory and consciousness), to reach a certain state of purity .
Is there any truth in the heterogeneous combo of accusations, launched against Parsons? In this case, we must admit that enough.
It is known that Parsons dedicated himself with true eagerness to Occultism, who was a direct disciple of Crowley, and who reached the rank of Leader of Agape (equivalent to the Master of Banquets of the Masons) in the OTO of California. He met Hubbard in August 1946, beginning with him an apparently iron friendship.
On Crowley’s own orders from England, Hubbard and Parsons practiced sexual magic rituals. It all ended, however, quite badly: Hubbard became lover of the then girlfriend of Parsons, and fled to Miami with her … and with a high sum of money. Parsons denounced Hubbard for robbery, but the case was resolved extrajudicially: the plaintiff accepted a promissory note from the “galactic tyrant hunter” who, apparently, dissipated his offense as easily as the Scientologists’ devices disappear extraterrestrial engrams.
The facts, in Russell Miller’s book Bare-faced Messiah: The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard(Messy Messiah: The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard, 1987).
The other two texts that are often cited, referring to the “hidden enthusiasms” of Parsons, do not justify the sources of their information, and therefore are not reliable. This is Sex and Rockets: The occult world of Jack Parsons (Sex and Rocket: The Hidden World of Jack Parsons, 1999), written by John Carter, and which has an Introduction by Robert Anton Wilson; and Strange Angel: The Otherwoldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons ( Strange Angel: The Otherworldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons, 2005) by George Pendle.
Regarding Parsons, we can add that he was stripped of his security clearance in the ’40s, and almost prosecuted for treason, accused of “slipping” classified documents from his then employer, Hughes Aircraft, to the nascent Israeli government. Some authors consider that the explosion that, in 1952, killed him in his Pasadena laboratory, was not accidental.
Finally, it should be noted that neither the OTO nor Scientology have any point of contact with Freemasonry.
The Ordo Templi Orientis (Order of the Eastern Temple, or Order of the Eastern Templars) is an international fraternal and religious organization, conceived by the Austrian chemist Carl Kellner at the end of the 19th century, and founded by Theodor Reuss in 1902. Although Originally inspired by Freemasonry, and associated with it, the OTO was reorganized under the leadership of Aleister Crowley, in 1904, with the Law of Thelema as the main axis. Since then, the Liber vel legis (Book of the Law), designed by the eccentric English magician, is the sacred text of this organization, its lyrics are indisputable and its dogmas unappealable.(Masonic connections)
In fact, the OTO also includes the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (EGC) or Catholic Gnostic Church, a sort of monastic branch of the Order.
American Astronauts of Masonic Affiliation
MERCURY PROGRAM
Three of the seven astronauts assigned to the Mercury Program (name otherwise suggestive) were tested freemasons: Virgil Grissom, Leroy Gordon Cooper and Walter Schirra. To these may be added a room: John Glenn. On February 20, 1962, and aboard Friendship 7, Glenn was the first American who managed to emulate the feat of the Soviet Yuri Gagarin, describing a complete orbit around the Earth. He was not yet a member of the Concorde Lodge, in New Concord (Ohio). Now, 36 years later, Glenn returned to space as part of the Discovery shuttle crew … already holding the rank of Master Mason.
GÉMINI PROGRAM
If we excepted Glenn – who, as we have seen, was not yet a member of the Order – all of the Masonic astronauts who left Earth with Mercury, continued inactivity during the development of the following Gemini Program: Virgil Grissom (Gemini III ), Leroy Gordon Cooper (Gemini V) and Walter Schirra (Gemini VI a). To these were added two other followers of the Square and the Compass: Thomas Stafford (who accompanied Schirra, and then manned Gemini IX a) and Edwin ‘Buzz’ Aldrin (Gemini XII). Five on a squad of seventeen pilots.
It is said that Leroy Gordon Cooper took with him, aboard the Gemini V, the official jewel of the 33rd Degree and a flag of his Lodge.
APOLLO PROGRAM
Six of the ten astronauts with recognized Masonic affiliation were part of the Apollo Project. Besides Aldrin, of course, it was them:
- Virgil ‘Gus’ Grissom, from Apollo I;
- Don Eisele and Walter Schirra, of Apollo VII;
- Thomas Stafford, who participated in Apollo X and, in 1975, of the last mission of the Project, Apollo XVIII, which culminated by coupling in full outer space with a Soviet Soyuz capsule;
- Two other Freemasons walked the moon after Aldrin. The first was Edgar D. Mitchell, on February 5, 1971, after being driven there onboard the Apollo XIV;
- A few months later, on July 26, James Irwin, a member of the Apollo XV mission, became the third and last Mason to visit our satellite.
The list of freemason astronauts (or at least, of public belonging to the Order) is closed, so far, Paul J. Weitz, a Skylab 2 crew member and active member of the Lawrence Lodge (Erie, Pennsylvania).

OTHER ALLEGED MASONS ASSOCIATED TO NASA
T. Keith Glennan, the first Administrator of NASA, was a Yale graduate, and a member of Skull and Bones: favorite puching-ball of conspiracy theorists. Skull and Bones are, in reality, just a University Fraternity. Only the league with Freemasonry the symbolism used, and the fact that many of those who were its members when students, were subsequently initiated into a Lodge.(Masonic connections)
The head of NASA during the Apollo Program, C. Fred Kleinknect, was Sovereign Grand Commander of the 33rd Grade Supreme Council of the Old and Accepted Scottish Rite – Southern District of the US – for eighteen years. He retired in 2003.
By mistake, some websites suggest that, in reality, he is the brother of the present Sovereign Grand Commander. “Holder of all the Scottish Rite Masons in the whole world”, apostrophically a Nazi-fascist page, badly written. Note the nonsense of supposing that there is something like a World Head, to which all the Brothers of our world must abide.
Sean O’Keefe, Administrator of NASA from 2001 to 2005, is a member of the Bohemian Club; in reality, a fraternal association of artists, men of letters and art lovers, founded in 1872, exclusively American, and that only incidentally is related to Freemasonry.
Circumstantial evidence of Masonic membership or esoteric sympathies tends to engulf even NASA’s subcontractors. As an example, it is said that Jack McDonnell, chief of McDonnell Aeronautics, prime contractor for the development of the Mercury spacecraft, was a devoted cult of the Occult Sciences; circumstance alleged by some to explain the strange names of many of the company’s aircraft: Phantom, Devil, Banshee, Goblin, Voodoo …
Bulk Ridiculousness
A walk, even shallow, through the rough Internet fields, confront us with all kinds of nonsense, arbitrarily strung like beads from some monstrous necklace, so that they look like the unwary members of a series, proposing to the feverish imagination of the gruesome conspiranoics sagas.
There are, for example, those who jump to the capture of “numerical keys” in the development of the North American space race. These find it significant that all the Mercury missions – the first manned program in the US, developed between 1961 and 1963 – have been carried out in capsules marked with the number 7 … Above all, considering that it only counted a total of six trips: Freedom 7, Liberty Bell 7, Friendship 7, Aurora 7, Sigma 7, and Faith 7.(Masonic connections)
The answer to this apparent enigma is simple.
In 1957, there were seven astronauts selected to participate in the Mercury Project: Alan Sheppard, Virgil Grissom, Leroy Gordon Cooper, Walter Schirra, Deke Slayton, John Glenn, and Scott Carpenter. But, finally, Slayton was removed from the list of flights, having been detected a heart problem. His colleagues decided, then, to mark all the capsules with the number 7, in memory of the original staff, and in homage to the excluded.
Deke Slayton continued in the space program as a flight controller until 1975, when he finally came to space in the Soviet-American joint mission Apollo-Soyuz, purely political.
Some add that “seven is also the maximum number of occupants that the Shuttle can carry, and the number of fatalities of the Columbia and Challenger” … Without realizing that, if the space shuttles always have seven crew members, it is logical that there are seven accident victims when such shuttles are damaged.
Others scrutinize what they understand as “anagrams” in the names assigned to the American space program, discovering with astonishment “the presence of symbols of great magical-esoteric significance.” Which, for God’s sake? The reader will ask at this point. “Few have noticed that behind the stylized A of the Apollo project is hidden, too, the constellation of Orion, a transcript of the god Osiris of Egyptian mythology. The horizontal line of the A is formed by the stars Mintaka, Alnilam and Alnitak [the Orion Belt, which we call The Three Marys], in the same way, that the three pyramids of the Giza plateau represent it on Earth ».
«Virtually all astronauts have been freemasons, or their parents have been, or have been related to Freemasonry. And those who did not belong died in strange circumstances, “warns us www.narom.org, noting that the Brothers” direct all the economic, social and political strata of our societies “, which includes” of course, NASA, space travel and the CIA ».(Masonic connections)
The question that arises spontaneously is: if the freemasons control the American space agency so perfectly and absolutely, why not place in the space, simply and directly, members of the Order, instead of allowing the entry of “profane”, with those who then, inexorably, spend energy, efforts and brain-storm hours with the sole purpose of bringing them to death “in strange circumstances”? You want to complicate your life for free.
Speaking of mysterious deaths, there we have Virgil Grissom, pilot of Liberty Bell 7 and second American in orbit. The conspiranoicos maintain, without knowing the source, that Grissom was prepared to be the first man to walk on the Moon. “However, Grissom was killed on January 27, 1967, along with his fellow astronauts Ed White and Roger Chaffee, during a training exercise of the pre-launch test for the Apollo I mission at the Kennedy Space Center,” they accuse. Now, Grissom was not, precisely, a “no Mason” … but a made and right Brother. Why delete it? Just because the Hierarchy changed its mind, and decided to replace it with Aldrin?
The reality is that both Grissom and his unfortunate companions were victims of an accident.
The pre-flight tests consisted of creating a pressurized atmosphere of pure oxygen. A short circuit in a badly isolated cable caused a fire that spread very quickly, almost explosively, killing the astronauts by asphyxia in just 17 seconds. The lack of an emergency escape system in the capsule hatch contributed in part to the disaster.
The astronauts could not be saved, but the footage shows that they tried desperately. The hatch opened inwards, but to do so, internal pressure had to be overcome, which was superior to the outside (as in all spacecraft). The astronauts should have released the pressure through a valve so that the rescue team could help them. With only 17 seconds of life and the atmosphere of the ship in rabid combustion, it is evident that they could not do it. Rescuers forced the hatch door just 5 minutes after the fire started, but Chaffee, Grissom, and White had already died, due to smoke inhalation.
The entire Apollo program was subjected to a thorough investigation based on the tragedy.
On Alan Bartlett Sheppard, who commanded the Apollo XIV mission, and was the fifth person to walk around Selene, the conspiracies say that, up there, he showed his love for Satan.
Being a golf player of recognized skill, Sheppard, owner, in addition, of a certain histrionic spirit, decided to show it, trying to take some hits. Despite wearing thick gloves and a rigid spacesuit, which forced him to grasp the golf club with one hand, Sheppard hit three balls in succession with a six iron, sending them, thanks to the low lunar gravity, and according to his own words, “To miles and miles and miles”. The anecdote is true. Even more: it was filmed.(Masonic connections)
But those traversed, which abound so much on the web, say that golf is “a sport linked to Freemasonry,” (rigorous sic ), and that the punctual fact that the astronaut gave three strokes with an iron six conceals hidden and dark simbología: the succession forms the figure 666 -according to the Apocalypse, the Number of the Beast-. In addition, they argue that the word golf is an acronym, formed by the initials of Gentleman Only Ladies Forbidden , which, according to them, “focuses on the idea that men should gather without the participation of their wives, “thus demonstrating” the level of contempt felt by Freemasons for women. “
Well, as we show in the list ut supra , Sheppard is not a Mason … just a lubeton , that is, a “son of a Mason.” In addition, there is no historical record that links the origin of golf as a sport to Freemasonry. Nor is there serious data to support the pilgrim idea that the word golf is a misogynist acronym: rather, most historians say that the sport was born in the Netherlands, and that its name originates from the flamenco kolf , which means stick.
The numerical kabala of the three strokes with iron six, which would give us the 666 that figures Antichrist according to the hallucinated one of Patmos, (Rev. XIII-17 and XV-2), could also be interpreted as 6 + 6 + 6, this is , 18 … which would allow us to charge against the Rosicrucian Knights. Or about the 18th century, a period that is certainly heretical: in it the French Revolution and the Independence of the United States took place …(Masonic connections)
However … Note that Edgar Mitchell, Sheppard’s companion, who shared the unusual “lunar racket” that so much urticaria raises, was, as one says, freemason up to the hilt. Which, strangely, the brave denouncers of diabolical schemes did not notice.
